Pet of the Week: Nana
Hi, my name is Nana. I am a seven year old Large Breed mix, and weigh around 68lb. I have quite the story to tell! It begins in Kentucky, in the home of a self-proclaimed 'rescuer,' where I and 43 other dogs were saved. I lived in atrocious conditions... The house/'rescue' had floors that were covered in old and new feces, it was cold with no electricity, and many of us were underweight. We were found when our owner unexpectedly went to the hospital. Animal Rescue Corps arrived and rescued us on scene on January 14th; they called our rescue "Operation Frozen Sorrows." Several dogs were unfortunately found too late. On January 31st, I arrived at Helping Paws weighing 56lbs, and since gained over 10lbs. I am so thankful! As you can probably imagine I am food motivated and am always ready for my feeding time. I am a pretty laid back gal; I do have a big bark but I am a sweet girl. I am super gentle, too! I enjoy anything involving food and I love to go on my walks and potty outside. At some point in my life I was taught "sit" and I will also give you my paw. I am doing great at going potty outside. I am starting to give happy tail wags and I smile while I get leashed up. I do like to give kisses now! I am all up to date on my vaccines, microchipped, and while I was opened up to be spayed, it was discovered that I was already spayed. I am now ready to go to a real home! If you are my forever home, where I will receive only kindness from now on, please come meet me! I've been waiting for you.
