Pets of the Week: Sissy & Boomer

Hi there! My name is Boomer, and this is my mom, Sissy. I am about three years old and Sissy is about four years old; we are small breed mixes. You may be wondering how we ended up in a shelter together… Well, our owner passed away recently. They had family, but instead of taking us in they dumped us at an animal control in Western Kentucky. We traveled almost seven hours and that is how we ended up here, at Helping Paws! Since being here, I was neutered (my mom was spayed before arriving), we got our shots updated, we got microchipped, and are ready to go home! After having a vet visit, they noticed that I have a low grade heart murmur, though luckily there is nothing that needs to be done. The vet recommended that if I start to exert myself, then I need to calm down; that is all! The staff will tell you that we are a pretty go with the flow and friendly bonded pair. We are easy to handle and walk, and really enjoy laying outside in the sun. Walking and eating are some of our favorite past times! Sometimes I try to get my mom to play, and we race around like little gremlins for a couple minutes; though Sissy usually ends the playing early. We share a kennel and like to sleep on our bed together. The staff also says we are sweet with humans and love getting some scratches and belly rubs. We can be a little scrappy towards the other dogs when they are all riled-up and barking, but otherwise we keep to ourselves and like to have our own space. Another plus is, we go potty outside! Kitties are okay; we're not really sure what they are so we did bark a little at them at first. We would really love a home that likes to cuddle and let us sleep on the couch together. If you think we'd be a good fit for your home, call HP today!
