Pet of the Week: Chuck
Hey y'all, it's me, Chuck! I am a five and a half year old Terrier mix, and weigh about 45 lbs. I am a white and tan scruffy dude, with cute folded ears. I look a little scraggly, but in a cute way! I have been at Helping Paws for a little over five weeks; I came from a kill shelter in Southern IL. I was roaming about the country, and living off the land... And by land I mean farmers' chickens! Yes that's right, I love me some chicken nuggets! My first name was actually Chick in lue of my love, though I was renamed Chuck when I arrived at HP (It's more manly, isn't it?). I am up to date on my shots, have a microchip, was previously neutered, and had a couple teeth pulled. If you look closely at my picture, you may notice my right eye looks like it's shaved around it, well that's because I had a little surgery done to fix my eyelid that was folding in; I'm all better now! I am a happy boy that LOVES the outdoors. I am always so excited for walk time and really enjoy exploring. I have been pretty relaxed with all the dogs I have met. I have even played with my doggy friend, Nan, in the yard! I really just minded my business and let her smell me lots. I am a good boy! I'm doing great at going potty outside, and I have good leash manners. Do not be alarmed if I fling myself to the ground, I'm just preparing to roll around and scratch my itches! I know "sit," too. I even take treats very gently. My favorite toys to play with are my stuffed toys. I'm pretty outgoing, friendly, and have done great with all the new hoomans I have met. Call Helping Paws to meet me! I would love a home that likes being outside and adventuring, just like me. I hope you like giving lots of pets, too!!
