Pet of the Week: Cali
Cali is a 1.5 year old calico kitty, looking for her fur-ever home!
Hello friends! My name is Cali. I am a 1.5 year old, beautiful calico girl. My feet, chest, and some of my face is white, while the rest of me is a unique patchwork of black and orange. With Autumn coming up, I will fit right in! I traveled to Helping Paws from a shelter in Southern IL, and after a week, the medical staff noticed I was pregnant. Surprise! I became a mom to three kittens while in foster, who have all been adopted. I am a very sweet and friendly momma. I love to talk and try to convince all the hoomans to come in and give me attention. I love all the attention I can get! The hoomans say I am a bit chunky, so I have decided to go on a little diet. I really enjoy playing, too. I may be chunky, but I am quick to catch those silly toys! I am a very special kitty, because on June 26th I tested positive for FeLV. Feline Leukemia Virus is a virus that is transmissible to other felines. I would need to be the only feline in the home, or I could go to a home that already has cats that are all also FeLV positive. It is possible for FeLV to shorten my lifespan, but there is no way to know for sure how much time I have left. I am looking for a special person that is willing to give me the best life I can have, while I still have it! Call HP today to meet me. We can answer any questions you may have about the virus. Will you be my special person?
