Pet of the Week: Kassie

Kassie is a smidge over a year old medium breed mix looking for her fur-ever home!

Howdy friends, my name is Kassie. I am a Medium Breed Mix, and a little over one year old. At the beginning of March, I weighed just over 55lbs. My story starts in Kentucky on January 14th, where I was rescued from a self-proclaimed 'rescuer,' by Animal Rescue Corps. Our hoarding situation, named "Frozen Sorrows", was discovered when our owner became ill and went to the hospital; she let the authorities know she left dogs at her home. What they discovered was a home covered in feces, dogs living inside and outside the house in freezing conditions, deceased dogs, and many of us were starving. I happened to be one of the dogs living outside. I am now being treated with compassion at Helping Paws! I love meeting new people. The other day I met a five year old little boy and I was in love with him! I was very gentle and gave him lots of kisses. I had so much fun playing with him. I have met other doggies here at HP and have done great; I even play in the yard with a couple of my dog friends! Sometimes I want to follow my nose while on walks, but I listen very well and can follow the hoomans instructions. I know "sit," too. I am treat motivated and always enjoy food time. I also will never turn down a hug or cuddle time. If you are interested in my sweet self and are looking for a best friend, I'm your girl! Call HP to meet me.
