Pet of the Week: Margie
Hi there, my name is Margie! I’m a three year old Chihuahua mix, around 20lbs, and a momma! I was saved back in September by our friends at Animal Rescue Corps. I had a hard start in life… I was living in an extremely rundown house in Florida, with over 135 other dogs, looking to be sold on Craigslist by our ‘owner.’ My life really changed after being rescued! I was pregnant at the time but got to give birth in a warm and safe place at Helping Paws. My six babies were born on October 23rd. I was such a good momma! As you can imagine, I am a timid girl. Can you blame me? I have come a long way since arriving at HP, and the team here is working on getting me used to being around people. I am very sweet underneath my shyness, and actually really like getting scratches. I get ‘squinty eyes’ when I get pets, because I secretly love it! I seem to do well with other doggies. I pass by the kitties and I don’t mind them either. I am great at not pulling on the leash; I only do a little if I get spooked. I am also great at going potty outside!! I would do best in a home that is on the quiet side and has patient humans that understand I will take a little bit of time to be myself. I have shown some of the humans here a little bit of my personality; I occasionally get excited on my walk and do a little kick and jump like a tiny bronco! It’s the cutest thing ever. Call Helping Paws to meet me!
