Pet of the Week: Tonic
We would like to introduce you to our sweetest boy Tonic! This adorable kitten is five months old. He and his brother Gin arrived at HP on October 30th, transferred over from McHenry County Animal Control in hopes to get him adopted quicker. He was originally a stray but is very well socialized. During his time with us, we noticed he is a little different! Looking at this cutie, you wouldn't be able to tell right away; he is such a happy, spunky, very loving kitty. He is also outgoing, curious, and can't get enough attention! After getting to know him we observed his legs aren't like a 'normal' kitten's. Our medical team determined he has bilateral luxating patellas, which means both of his back kneecaps slip in and out of place. He gets around just fine! He still loves to run and play. It does make him a little wonky but we like to think it adds to his silly character! If you would like to meet this happy boy or ask more about his medical situation, call Helping Paws. Despite being dealt a crappy paw of cards, this boy is so cheerful and brightens up any room he is in! (Tonic's brother Gin is in foster care due to having a bad heart; we don't know how much time baby Gin has left in his life.)
