Ringing in the New Year at the Red Kettles!

All smiles from Tanya & Rena at Walmart in Harvard! // Mary & Michael along with Jackye & Carolina at Jewel-Osco in McHenry ringing in donations!

The sounds of the season are upon us! The week before Christmas, Wednesday thru Friday, you could find our staff out at the entrances of the Jewel-Osco in McHenry and the Walmart in Harvard ringing our bells for Salvation Army of McHenry County. In addition to emergency assistance, the money raised in the kettles will fund nearly 50 social service programs throughout the year, including food pantries, after-school programs, and shelter for the homeless. Seventy percent of The Salvation Army’s donations for the entire year are made during the Christmas season.

We are proud to share that over 34 hours of ringing, the Sustainable Staffing Ringing brigade was able to raise $2,332.21 that will all stay local to help those in our community!!! On top of that our Founder, Mary McBride, matched the donation on behalf of the company for a total of $4,664.42 raised! The sincere gratefulness and encouragement could be felt that day from all the Salvation Army Staff.

Roxanne Waliullah, Compliance Manager at Sustainable Staffing, presenting the matching check to the LT. Nancy and LT.Pablo Rivera at the McHenry Salvation Army on January 8th, 2024.

“The Salvation Army remains committed to assisting everyone who comes through our doors,” said Lt. Colonel Lonneal Richardson, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division. “But, we can only do it with the generosity of the community. Your donation to the Red Kettles could mean the difference between a family being able to cover the rent, keep the lights and heat on, and stay in their homes. We need your help to ensure hope marches on for those in need this year.”

Below, see how to help this season.
